Plastic Injection Molding Machine

1. About HWC Clamping System.

During operation of the plastic injection molding machine, the maximum clamping force of the injection molding machine is required only at few mm stroke during the injection is undergoing after the mold is closed.

The below animation is for your understanding our HWC clamping system quickly.
To get more details, please see the next pages.

As you see above, HyMEC's Hydraulic Wedge Clamping System (HWC) is an innovative device for the clamping systems of the plastic injection molding machines. When you installed HWC on your machine, you do not need any big hydraulic cylinders.

For instance, you will need 100 tons HWC (cylinders) clampng deivce instead of 2,000 tons hydraulic cyliner as HWC creates 15-25 times stongclamping force. By adopting HWC, you can save the production cost, the spare parts for wear, maintenance expense and electric power rate. of the injection molding machine.

More informations for the parts and operation are shown on 2. Structure and Operation of HWC.

HWC consists of wedges with clamp cylinder, take-up unit with hydraulic cylinder(s), working wedge, front wedge, Jack screw with nut. The other parts, such as platen, tie-rod, ejector etc., are more or less same to that of the conventional injection molding machine, toggle or direct pressure type.

HWC has the follwoing features;

  1. HWC creates the strong power by the wedge clamping device with small hydraulic cylinder, 1/15 - 1/25 of the clamping force of the conventional injection molding machine.

  2. HWC requires only small cylinder and pumps so that you do NOT need such large capacity hydraulic cylinders and pumps. Quite smaller equipments are used with HWC. As a result, you can produce the cost-effective injection molding machines at lower production cost.

  3. HWC has a simple mechanism with a rigid structure and minimizes the friction resistance with newly developed wedge system with roller bearings. Our testing of injection molding machine equipped with HWC (old model), shows no problem at all for 7-year operation. The machine still works well with good performance and capacity.
